Business & Commercial Insurance

Business & Commercial Insurance in Poland, OH & the Mahoning Valley

You built your business from the ground up, just like we did. We help local business owners, contractors and service companies put the right protection in place, comparing coverage from multiple carriers and explaining it in plain English.

Coverage for Your Business

Business Owners Policy (BOP)

Combines property and general liability in one package for many small and mid-sized businesses.

General Liability

Covers injuries and property damage to customers or the public that arise from your business.

Commercial Property

Your building, equipment, inventory and furniture, plus business income if a covered loss shuts you down.

Commercial Auto

Trucks, vans and vehicles used for business, including coverage for employees who drive them.

Tools & Equipment

Inland marine coverage for contractors’ tools and equipment that travel from job to job.

Commercial Umbrella

Extra liability limits above your general liability and commercial auto policies.

Commercial Auto

A personal auto policy usually won’t cover a vehicle that’s titled to your business or used primarily for work. Whether you run one pickup or a small fleet, we’ll match your vehicles, drivers and use with the right commercial auto coverage, including hired and non-owned auto for employees who drive their own cars on business.

Surety Bonds

We also help with common surety bonds, including license and permit bonds, notary bonds and contract bonds. Bond requirements vary by city, county and project, so give us a call and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What insurance does a small business need in Ohio?

Most small businesses start with general liability and property coverage, often combined in a business owners policy (BOP). Depending on your operation you may also need commercial auto, tools and equipment coverage, or an umbrella policy. Many contracts and leases also require specific limits.

Do you handle workers’ compensation?

In Ohio, workers’ compensation is provided through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation rather than private insurers. We can help with related coverage such as employer’s liability (stop gap) and make sure the rest of your business policies are in place.

Will my personal auto policy cover my work truck?

Not always. If the vehicle is owned by your business, used to haul tools or equipment, or driven by employees, you likely need a commercial auto policy. We’ll review how your vehicles are used.

What is a certificate of insurance?

A certificate of insurance (COI) is a document that shows proof of your coverage to a client, landlord or general contractor. We can issue certificates quickly when you need them.

Do you write surety bonds?

Yes. We help with common bonds such as license and permit, notary and contract bonds. Call us with your requirements and we’ll help you find the right bond.

Can I bundle my business and personal insurance?

Many carriers offer advantages when your business, home and auto are with the same agency. Even when they are with different companies, having one agent review everything helps close gaps.

Coverage, discounts and availability vary by carrier and are subject to underwriting. This page is general information, not a policy contract.
